Advanced @User Tagging Mod: What is it?
The @user Tagging mod is designed to increase activity on your forum by allowing members to mention each other in posts when talking about them.
This is done in a very easy way, very similar to how Twitter mentions people. We use @ ; as the tags, so for instance you could say:

This new mod from @Dragonbyte Tech; is pretty cool.

The “@DragonByte Tech;” Will become a link to the DragonByte Tech users profile, it will also inform DragonByte Tech they had been mentioned, and link to the relevant thread/post via a new area in the profile section, as well as a new tab in the shoutbox.
It also allows members to “tag” the thread for specific other members by inputting their usernames in the tag box above the posts of the thread.
This is a great way to increase your forum activity with no extra admin input required – people will start to mention posts/threads to their friends, which will increase the amount of posting. This is especially useful of forums which have an international contingent (so threads posted in during the night for some of your members don't go overlooked) or forums which have a lot of posts/threads each day – again to make sure that a post a person might want to read doesn't get lost in the crowd.

Statistics Page: Display which users are the most active, both at tagging and being tagged. Same with mentions. This is a great way to encourage your members to utilise the feature and increase activity!
Post Previews: See the context of the post you were mentioned in! (Hard limit of 20 characters either way in Lite version)
BBCode Integration: A button for mentioning has been added to the BBCode toolbar – Users no longer need to remember the @; command.
Change look of Mentioned usernames: Allows you to use BBCode to make mentioned usernames stand out. Only underline is available in Lite.
Per Forum Settings: Allows you to turn tagging on/off per forum (disables the tag cloud) and mentioning per forum (Disables mention notifications from that forum)

@user Mention: Type @Username; in a post to “mention” a user. This not only links to the users profule, but it also sends a notification to that user that they have been mentioned, and should check out the thread to see what is being said about them!
User Tagging: Hit “Tag Users” to recommend the thread to people without mentioning them in your post. A great way to make sure people don't miss threads that would be suitable for them!
Tagged list: a list of users tagged in the thread – great way for people to check who might have similar interests to them.
New @tag tab in profile: A tab showing both incoming and outgoing tags/mentions from the user.
vBShout Integration: New shoutbox tab notifying user of any incoming tags or mentions.
Extra Pro Features:
More Stat page options: Lets you set how many users are displayed in the stats for tags/mentions (Locked to 5 in Lite)
New User CP options: Let users only accept tags and/or mentions from their friends (Requested feature)
Display Options for Mentions: Allows you to hide the @ code when users are mentioned in posts. Also allows you to change the BBCode of a username which has been mentioned (Bold, Italic, Underline or Highlight)
Easy repositioning of Tag Cloud: Choose different positions for the tag cloud without requiring template edits
Expanded Post Previews: Customise how many characters to show in the post previews for added usability.

Tag my Friends: A button to Tag the thread for all the users on your vB Friends list.
Usergroup Exclude: Gives ability to prevent users of this group from being tagged (for instance banned users, or admins)
User Exclude: Allow you to prevent individual members from being tagged – Perhaps a particular member prefers to stay hidden/invisible, or you don't want certain staffers being tagged.
Turn Tag List On/Off: Ability to turn off the tag list in threads if you don't want to show who has been tagged.
